The genus Gerbera itself is named after Traugott Gerber, a German botanist and medical doctor who lived in the 1700s. While the naming honors a German naturalist, the plant’s physical origins are firmly rooted in African soil.

Natural Habitat: Thriving in Tropical Climates

In their native African habitat, Gerbera daisies thrive in tropical and subtropical regions.
